Enjoy the movie Space Next and join Janet Ivey of Janet’s Planet for an out-of-this-world activity! You’ll get lively instruction and a fun, challenging item to make.

This month’s activity is: Construct Your Own Straw Rockets! Just as engineers had to develop solutions for landing different kinds of vehicles on the Moon and Mars, you’ll investigate what it takes to go to space and follow the engineering design process to build your own straw rockets! Traveling through the universe is no easy task for an astronaut! In order to journey through the stars, you’re going to learn what it takes to fly outside our stratosphere by building a straw rocket. Using straws, scissors, tape and a template (that must be printed out beforehand) you’ll create your own spacecraft and lift off!

This activity is great for ages 4 to 8. A supply list will be sent to participants in advance, so please register for this event today!
